Works as intended

Plastic seems very sturdy. Like how there are different sized holes for various sizes of debris. Fits perfectly into a standard 5 gallon bucket. Finger holes make it easy to remove.

I spent way too much time reading reviews because of the size issue (diameter). I am using white buckets purchased from Lowes (I have four and two fit well and two had 1/8" play) and there is variance in the buckets (at the bottom). The white buckets allow me to see how much dirt is in the water. I use the two bucket rinse method (one bucket with soap and one bucket to rinse the dirty mitt and the re-soap rinsed mitt) with first a power-washer rinse, then soap cannon and then to the bucket wash). These work well and I do not expect the manufacturer of the grit traps to vary there product due to the manufacturing tolerances in the buckets. That being said these work and work well. How long will they last and how thick they are in comparison to others being sold here? Do know but for under $7 dollars a piece (for two) you can really overthink this.

I wanted something to keep my sponge from contacting the bottom of the bucket where the heavier dirt particles settle. For me, that's all it has to do, just elevate the sponge off the bottom. I don't buy into the claims that these types of devices "trap" dirt, but maybe if I try really hard, I could see the argument that the four large standoff fins might reduce turbulent flow at the bottom to help keep dirt at the bottom from being kicked back up as much, but by my definition, I'd hardly consider that a trap. (btw, if you really really are counting on this effect, then following that same logic, you'd want these fins to sit at the bottom where the dirt is and therefore wouldn't want a trap that wedges higher up in the bucket) With that being said, this was exactly what I wanted at a lower cost than the more well known brand versions.It fits a Home Depot bucket, sitting at the bottom with 1/8" of play to the bucket wall. In my uploaded picture is a bucket purchased in July 2019 (it has a very rounded bottom inside corner). I also tried it on an older ~2014 HD bucket (no rounded inside corner) and it also fit that, maybe with a tiny bit more play.It's pretty sturdy, which I honestly didn't expect. The thickness of the webbing is ~.075" (~2mm). And I didn't even consider that the web spacing would be too small to fit some fingers, so the five finger holes were a surprisingly useful feature. I don't use it to scrape the sponge or mitt, so I didn't experience any of the lifting or floating off the bottom that a couple other reviews mentioned.I almost stuck to the more well known names to avoid the hassle and disappointment that sometimes happens when purchasing an unknown brand (we've all been there... end up spending more after trying to save a few bucks). But it seems the parent company that makes this item, Schroeder & Tremayne have been making car cleaning products for a while and google results seems to indicate they are actually the manufacturer of some of the Mothers labeled sponges and brushes.In all, I'm happy with this purchase. Fits perfectly in my Walmart bucket exactly what I needed for my car rinsing needs. So far so good, seems sturdy and easy to wash, and it is easy to store as it stays in the bucket. Great fit, 5 stars

Slides to the bottom of a home depot bucket perfectly. Strong plastic so you can scrub it hard with your brush with no worries.

I wanted a grit trap that didn't require buying another bucket. All of them seemed to be the same diameter. I took a Dremel tool and cut off the outer two rings, and polished the edges. Now it fits great on an existing bucket.

I like the fact that this item fits perfectly in the bottom of any 5 gallon bucket and does trap the dirt and stones in bottom of bucket...

Used this item and it sure was one of those things never knew would come in handy! All sediment and dirt fell to bottom of bucket keeping the water fresher with less changeouts! Practical and would make great gifts!

Purchased this to use for washing cars. It fits well and as far as I can tell works about average for these simple grate types without the louvers. The only complaint I have is that I wish the support fins were heavier duty. Putting any sort of weight on it such as wringing out microfiber cloths on it will warp and collapse it.

This was a super good invention. I love it. It works exactly as advertised would definitely recommend. Would definitely buy more. Would definitely give to a friend!!

Keeps the grit and dirt out of your wash water.

I've used these in some orange buckets from a big box hardware store. This was a package of two. They fit well and did seem to keep more of the dirt in the bottom of the buckets. I knocked off one star for value though, because they cost $17 a pair, and even with inflation, the price seems inflated based on the amount of plastic in these grates. Two for $10 would have made these grates great, so maybe shop around.
